Well we’re not, but our cards are! Kay Cooke, one of our trustees, is heading away on Saturday, weather permitting, for a long-awaited trip to Europe. This time Robert and Kay are leaving their backpacks at home and taking wheely cases – it’s been a few years and some, since their last trip! So with some space to spare, Kay has offered to pack a handful of our winter poetry cards and leave them in airports, railway stations and any other place she fancies. This card is our New Zealand poets’ edition so I’m especially excited our poetry is heading overseas.
And why weather permitting? Well if you’re reading this from afar, we’re experiencing a ‘bit of winter’ right now in NZ. It’s been raining in Dunedin for the last week , there’s snow on the hills and more forecast for tonight. I’m just home from a walk along the St Clair Esplanade and the sea is absolutely wonderful in her anger. She’s throwing up foam and tossing it all over the path and road. Breathtaking.
