Afternoons with Jim

Yesterday I heard from my printer that the cost of the spring card has skyrocketed. Feeling rather dejected I headed for home wondering about the longevity of this project. But our two lads, who are out flatting, were arriving for dinner with empty tins and empty stomachs so I turned on the oven and, the radio. With trays dancing in and out of the oven I listened to Jim Mora talking, heard him mention poetry and thought aha maybe Jim’s listeners like poetry. Maybe they would like to hear about a poetry project based in Dunedin?
10.00pm last night I sent an email to Jim’s producer and today Susan rang me at school, would I be available to talk live to Jim at 2.20 this afternoon? So I headed up home for a rather late lunch break and a chat to Jim on his Afternoons with Jim programme. He is such an easy guy to converse with, didn’t feel like an interview at all! And Bouquets to Radio New Zealand National for a quick positive response to my email.
